Really great experience from start to finish! Both the gentleman who provided the quote and the one who did the treatment were very punctual (hurrah for 7am appointments so I can get to work on time!), professional and lovely to deal with. I was given lots of options to choose from and my circumstances discussed in helping me decide which treatment was best. I also had to reschedule my treatment 3 times due to my dog being sick and it was never an issue to change it all around. Highly recommend!!

  • Termite Control: what is the best termite control method?

Discovering termites in your property can be one of the most alarming issues that homeowners can encounter. While it may seem feasible to tackle a swarm by yourself, professional treatment is required to prevent damage to your home or structure. There are several effective methods of termite control, including implementing physical barriers such as steel mesh or sands, chemical treatments such as liquid soil-applied terminitices, termite baits, testicide barrier treatments, or through Borate wood treatments.

  • Are chemicals used for termite control safe?

The modern chemicals that are used today within termite control are non-hazardous to your health after completion. However, they can be highly toxic if not handled carefully or if label directions are not followed. For maximum safety for your family and pets, it is imperative to contact professional pest management services who have extensive knowledge and expertise with handling termite control chemicals. While the risks posed by chemicals are negligible if completed by a professional service, you can still request an alternative termite method such as baits if you have concerns surrounding chemicals within your home.

  • What types of material attract Termites?

Termites are winged insects that primarily feed on wood, but they are also known to damage common household items such as paper, books, insulation, swimming pool liners, and filtration systems, as well as living trees and shrubs that are already in decline. This is because termites are able to digest material which contains the organic compound cellulose.

  • Where are termite mounds located in homes?

Each year, Termites are responsible for costly property damage, and can compromise the structural stability of homes. Termites accumulate in moist and undisturbed places, such as soil or crawl spaces, and often thrive in warmer climates. Swarming termites are known to be attracted to light, and are often found near vents, doors, or windows. Pest control services can inspect your home’s porches and other structural wood for signs of termites, such as tree stumps, stored lumber of firewood, cardboard boxes, untreated fence posts or buried scrap wood. Termite mounds can be found in the ground or inside wooden structures, where a branching tunnel system will lead to a nest. Drywood termites will seek a wooden crevice within homes, such as  while subterranean termites may enter homes through its foundations.Stewarts Pest Control is a Perth based service who are committed in providing effective solutions to household pests. As an essential service, we are still open to provide you with termite control services during these unprecedented times.

Questions you should be asking!

Can you guarantee the soil the termitacide is put into is going to be undisturbed for 10 years?

Do you have any plans for building alterations that will disturb or interfere with the treated area and therefore render the treatment useless?

Are you treating every aspect of the building, or is there a likelihood of further treatment that may be needed to other areas? E.g. internal concrete areas, cavity walls, retaining walls etc.

Do you know what will be the future use of the treated area e.g vegetable patches, fish ponds near by, or other adverse situation?
Our qualified staff can guide you through the process of answering these questions. We can provide you with the very best way to treat and control termites with no questions left unanswered!

Termite Treatment

A termite barrier is when termiticide is applied around the perimeter of a building to form a barrier to prevent termites gaining entry into the structure. This will protect your home and protect the inside of your cavity walls from around the edge of the concrete slab. This is done by drilling and injecting chemical around the outside of the building or under the building where accessible. When quoting for termites, we will need to attend your home and measure up your property. Prices go purely based on the size of your home (building perimeter) and the conditions surrounding it. Sometimes customers are unsure if what they are seeing are termites, and this is why we asses the situation before providing a quote!

Termite Traps, Baiting & Monitoring Stations

Termite baits are placed into specially designed stations for termites to feed on and take back into the nest. The baits are highly cellulose and are a preferred food source to wood for termites, in most cases.
Monitoring stations are gadgets used to detect the presence of termites. These unobtrusive termite bait stations are placed around your property to detect termites.
Termite Traps can be installed at your property, which will allow you to monitor for termite activity around your property. The termite traps are placed around the house to help detect termites. They are full of highly attractive food sources.

Visual Termite Inspection

We inspect in the roof, inside the building, under the floor (if applicable) and the surrounding grounds within a fifty meter radius. The Stewarts report details any visual live termites at the property. It will tell you where the termites are and how extensive the infestation is. It will also detail what species of termite was found at the property. The report goes over any past visual termite damage. This is very important especially if you are purchasing a property. If there is extensive visual termite damage in the roof, or other areas of the property it may need to be replaced. The Stewarts report also details any high risk areas. This is so you can help prevent termite infestations at the property and you are aware of these areas. The Stewarts report will detail what type of building it is, if there are any areas that we are unable to gain access to and why. It will also say whether we recommend gaining access to any areas.
Some things to consider before planning a termite treatment:
Termite treatments should not be approached as a once-off thing to do, and vigilance is of the utmost importance even after a treatment has been applied.
Some of the most successful, economical, and environmentally friendly
termite treatments usually involve one or many minimal procedures until the problem is solved. Even though you may choose to have a long-term barrier put down, it will still be necessary to have an annual inspection carried out as a minimum.
