Stewarts Bee Removal & Relocation

Here at Stewarts we are striving to protect our Australian native bees and honey bees. We believe the best way to remove and relocate bees is chemical free. This is why we have spent years formulating the best tools for a natural, organic and stress-free bee removal service. With years of beekeeping experience, we have the knowledge and expertise to handle any job with care and precision.
Once we have removed the bees from their current hive whether that be in a letterbox, tree or on your fence. We then transfer the colony safely in a temporary hive to relieve stress. Once the bees have been assessed, they then get transferred to their new hives in one of our bee sanctuaries. Our bee sanctuaries are located right across the Perth Hills is multiple locations, helping local farmers and residents pollinate crops and gardens, providing organic honey.

Swarming of The Honey Bee

Swarming of the honey bee colony is an annual event, which generally will occur during spring when the weather is warmer, and nectar and pollen is plentiful. A bee colony may increase in size rapidly at this time of the year and will generally become over-crowded. It is at this point where the queen from the original nest will pack up and leave with some of her fellow workers in search of a new location for a nest.

This location could be the cavity wall of your home, your shed or any other dark place. If you find that you will have a large number of bees hanging around your garden, it could be because there is a nest closeby. If there is a nest close by, the bees may be visiting your property because you have a pool or water that has collected in small puddles around your house. The bees will be attracted to this water and will collect it to take back to the nest.

This water helps control their nest temperature; these bees are not necessarily swarming. A swarm of bees will stay in the area in a large group and will usually settle in a cluster. If the bees are looking for water, you will find that they will come and go from the property.

What to do if you find a swarm:

If you find that you have unwanted bees swarming in your backyard, here are few tips on what to do until they are removed:
  • If you have bees that are swarming, keep children/pets away (inside) until the bees have "clustered". This can take half an hour to an hour.
  • If a bee swarm has entered a building, leave or close off that section, lock the doors, so no one enters the room by mistake.
  • Wear shoes to prevent stepping on one that may have landed on the ground.
  • Keep pets away. Dogs and other animals may try snapping at the bees, and if they get stung, it could be fatal.
  • Do not attempt to treat them yourselves using an aerosol spray, water or smoke. Call Stewarts for more information or how to control the problem.
