Ant Control & Treatment

We can treat ants by using an external treatment only or a combination of both external and internal treatment. One of our fully qualified and licensed technicians will always try to locate the nest and treat the nest directly. If a nest is not found on your property, we can also apply products that ants can take back to the nest and control the problem in that respect.

Internal

Ants tend to come inside homes in search for either water or food to take back to their nest. This is why we use a dust or gel to treat ants internally. The gel/dust is applied in cracks and crevices for the ants to pick up and take back to the nest.

External

Externally we will apply a residual spray around the perimeter of the building and any problem areas. Our fully licensed technician will always try to locate the nest and directly treat the nest on your property. If the nest is on a neighbouring property, we can apply a product for the ants to take a back to the nest.

  • What Are the Different Types of Ant Bites?

Carpenter ants bite rather than sting, and they usually try to get away from people. That’s what makes them different to some other ants that might usually attempt to actively attack. The venom in capener ant bites can cause a reaction for some people.

Fire ants have a fiery sting and it causes a hot, burning sensation on the surface of the skin. You’ll definitely know it when you feel it. You’ll notice a small red spot on the skin and it’ll turn white and itch, potentially causing a bit of pain too.

Meat ants have a pretty painful bites, but they don’t sting at all. Greenhead ants have a painful sting and are known quite well because many people have an allergic reaction to their stings.

Pharah ants have a bite that doesn’t contain any poison, but does cause a lot of pain and they have been known to transmit diseases through their bites too. Formica ants have a relatively strong bite and they can also spray acid, which causes mild to severe irritation on the skin.

  • re Fire Ants Dangerous?

Fire ants bite and that bite can be painful. But it’s not the bite itself that gives them the potential to be dangerous to humans. They also have venom that comes with the bite. This can lead to an allergic reaction in some people. It might cause vomiting, nausea, diarrhea or difficulty breathing. The throat and tongue might experience swelling too.

In very rare cases, these bites can lead to anaphylaxis, which is a potentially life threatening reaction. It can result in cardiac arrest and unconsciousness.

  • How Should I Treat a Fire Ant Bite?

If you have an allergic reaction to a fire ant bite, you should use remedies that can be bought over the counter to treat the allergic reaction. These symptoms might include headaches, nausea and dizziness. If the symptoms increase in severity, you should seek help from a medical professional.

For most people, treating a fire ant bite will be about treating the pain and irritation from the bite itself, and this can be done using basic painkillers.
