These ants are
originally from Africa. They usually nest in
buildings, brick works, cavity walls, skirting path, rockeries and plant
roots. They feed in dead insects, meat particles and grease or fat. They can
often be seen scavenging food from pet bowls. These ants are about 1.5-2.5mm
long and are yellow to brown in color.
