are pictures of a European House Borer Beetle, its Larvae and the hole that
is left when it emerges from wood.
Adult EHB Beetle.
EHB Larva. The larva in the
early year of development is so small it is almost undetectable to the naked
eye. As it matures it can grow to 41mm.

when emerging from wood. This hole is an
oval can measure about 5mm to 10mm. the holes are usually in line with the
grain of the wood. Sometimes dust and droppings may be seen below the timber
where the beetle has emerged from. |
